I'm not sure if this is the right place for this information...

I'm running GPE on a Sharp SL-6000 and I noticed that /etc/interfaces which can hold a WEP key is world readable. Strongly suggest all change permissions from 644 to 600 by running "chmod 600 /etc/interfaces" as root.

Has there been discussion about changing the permissions for /etc/interfaces to 600 in the distribution? If not, what say you?

Thanks, Bob

Bob, on Angstrom /etc/network/interfaces is still 644. I will bring this issue up in the Angstrom list. Thanks for reporting. Btw, this page has been moved into Angstrom wiki: http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/mw/index.php/Tosa --Xjqian 05:40, 13 July 2007 (CEST)
