root partition too small?
I followed the instructions how to partition your drive as given, and everything worked smoothly. However, after installing quite a few packages, I ran into trouble: gnumeric couldn't be launched because there wasn't much space left in the root partition, where /tmp (or /var/tmp) is located. Moving /tmp elsewhere doesn't work (for me).
In the end I went for repartitioning the whole thing. I decided I don't need three partitions, which always give me headaches, so I went for a one partition install. In order to do so I had to edit /etc/fstab in hdimage1.tgz, and took out all references to /dev/hda2 and /dev/hda3. I now have OZ running with just one partition, and that seems to just work fine. It won't be possible to access it from Windows as usb mass storage device though, but I don't use Windows anyway...

Possible to brick?
The article states that it's possible to brick your SL-C3100/3200 by installing OZ. Is that true? I only have experience with the SL-C3000, but that one isn't brickable by installing OZ - restoring a NAND-backup makes it workable again.

Not really. However, you can't just restore a NAND backup. You will also have to repartition your Z and restore the hidden contents of those partition.
fdisk not on my distro
fdisk was not included within my figlabs conversion distro. Would it be possible for someone to include a reliable link from which to download an IPK for it please. Better still perhaps a copy could be downloadable from the OpenZaurus Home Page.
What if partitioning goes wrong and there is no system left ?
Can someone advise on what we can do if the partitioning goes wrong somehow and we end up with no system installed on the HD please ?
Installation from Japanse OS? Screenshots?
I don't understand how to partition the device while using it with a Japanese operating system. (I don't even know how to bring up a console or a terminal.) Perhaps instructions for this could be added?
In any event, that won't help me now. I've already tried to flash the device. (I was hoping to get an OS I could use to partition the drive -- oops. That was with the old install documents that had the partitioning instructions after flashing instructions.) Maybe there could be another page on how to install a 2.4-based OS onto the device, including where to get the files (especially for the SL-C3200) that people could then use to partition the drive, if they do what I did, and continue with this installation guide. Would this be hard to put together?

There is a detailed howto for pdaxrom installation here: http://www.oesf.org/index.php?title=Installing_pdaXrom
...which contains some nice screenshots of the Japanese menu.
