In General
The pages on this wiki should be used for professional, objective presentation of information. Opinions and rants (within reason) are encouraged as long as they are on discussion pages or personal pages. Create an account to obtain a personal page.
Edit early and edit often. Pursue brevity and accuracy. When a discussion winds down, replace it with a summary (just the conclusions, not a blow-by-blow). When you make substantial edits, consider moving the original text to the Discussion page.
Grammar
- It's "Zauruses", not Zaurii or other odd pluralizations. "Zaurus" is always capitalized.
- Always use DogNames unless you need to make a distinction of devices in the same family. The Collie and Poodle are Portrait Zauruses. Of these devices, the SL-5000 and SL-5600 have 32 MB of RAM while the SL-5500 has 64 MB.
- DogNames and model names always redirect to the appropriate page.
- Well... it's not obvious to do that since dognames are not wiki words (mix of upper/lower case)... so not specially easy to type when writing inn the wiki... --OlivierBerger 13:14, 13 April 2006 (BST)
- MediaWiki doesn't really use WikiWords anyway. It requires [[brackets]] for each link. -- Bronson 18:48, 13 April 2006 (BST)
Use proper namespaces
Use language code after section name
Use InterWiki Links
This wiki is closely associated with a number of other wikis, such as OpenEmbedded, Opie, etc. You should use [interwiki links] to link to those wikis instead of absolute links. For instance:
| OpenEmbedded: | [[OE:GettingStarted]] | OE:GettingStarted |
| Opie: | [[Opie:OpieRoadmap]] | Opie:OpieRoadmap |
| Handhelds.org, GPE: | [[HH:GPERoadmap]] | HH:GPERoadmap |
