PortraitFormFactor

From OpenZaurus

(Redirected from Portrait)

Sharp Zauruses come in two FormFactors: Portrait and Clamshell.

Portrait screens are taller than they are wide. In addition, the device has a flip-up cover to protect the screen, rather than folding across its middle like a flip-phone.

The Collie and Poodle have a quarter-VGA 240x320 screens. The Tosa has a full VGA 480x640 screen.

The keyboard slides out from the bottom of the device and is intended to be used with the thumbs. The keys are tiny and recessed, which can make it difficult to get used to at first. With some practice, however, even people with large thumbs can type somewhat productively.

Other hardware differences

Builtin 802.11 wifi

The Tosa includes built-in 802.11 networking. The Collie and Poodle require CF-based adaptors (see CompactFlashWifiAdapters).
