All content on this site is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.5 license.

This license was chosen because:

  • The Gnu GPL is intended for code. When used for documentation, there are a number of ambiguities and loopholes.
  • The Gnu FDL, created to resolve the issues with docs and the GPL, is decidedly non-free.
  • OpenZaurus is more likely to encourage contributions from its users if it ensures that they will not be used by anybody else in pursuit of financial gain. Commercial entities are encouraged to link to pages on the OpenZaurus site.
  • ShareAlike ensures that nobody can close this information back down again.

License discussions should take place on the openzaurus-devel mailing list.
