SD/MMC support in Locomo chip specifications

One user did reverse-engineering on original Sharp SD/MMC binary module and wrote specification about how it is done.

http://josejx.net/collie/

This means that the closed-source driver problem on the collie has moved from a problem of lack of information to one of lack of time for an appropriately skilled person to develop a 2.6 kernel driver.

Bounty

I have set up a bounty so that people who are interested in this development being done can contribute financially. The bounty shall be paid when a patch has been accepted into the Linux kernel upstream that creates a workable driver for the SD slot on the collie (discussions welcome!) --Laibsch 19:07, 1 January 2007 (CET)

Result

2007.04.10 Thomas Kunze announced working version of driver for 2.6.20 kernel. Test images are provided by Ångström distribution.

After boot you need to load two modules:

modprobe lomoco_spi
modprobe mmc_block

Feel free to report success to the OpenZaurus devel mailing list. Failures can be reported in the bug that is tracking progress

Is this driver working and therefore the bounty due? If so, where shall I send the money? --pgfeller 12:00, 6 January 2009 (CET)
